Season 2 – In the second season, Skye and Clay are dating. Together with Clay, she rode to a tattoo parlor on her motorcycle, where they both got tattoos. Later, they attempted to have sex. However, Clay noticed cuts on her body. Skye claimed that she used to self harm and they are old.

Clay knew that the cuts are recent, and was upset that Skye is cutting again. Skye promised to call Clay when she felt like cutting herself again, like the deal they made before. The next day, Clay and Skye met up again. They attempted to have sex for the second time, but this time Clay started seeing Hannah instead of Skye, and freaked out.

Skye started to think that Clay doesn’t love her and doesn’t want to be with her, but Clay assured her that that’s not true. In ” Two Girls Kissing “, Clay and Skye talked in the park. Skye asked Clay if his parents know about her and if they knew about Hannah.

Skye accused Clay of still being hung up on Hannah, and revealed that she knows Clay went to court because Tyler told her so. Later that day, Skye came to Clay’s house to have dinner with his parents and made pasta with Clay’s Dad. During dinner, Skye tried to jerk Clay off and they went upstairs. They attempted to have sex again, but it didn’t go well and Skye told Clay to stop.

She asked him what’s going on and if he’s ashamed of her. Skye told Clay that he’s still in love with a dead girl, and that she can’t compare to Hannah because she was perfect. Clay kept denying everything she said, so she asked him to tell her that he loves her and is over Hannah.

Clay & Skye Have A Complicated Past On ’13 Reasons Why’ (Warning: minor spoilers from Episode 11 ahead!) Although Netflix’s new series 13 Reasons Why is about Hannah Baker’s 13 reasons for ending her life, the show is also very much about Clay Jensen, who listens to her tapes.

While Clay gets taken back to the past with Hannah’s tapes, what he hears also begins to affect his present day life and how he sees people, like his former friend Skye. So From early on it has been clear these two have a history. Skye talked about a time when they used to be friends and it’s obvious Skye knows Clay well.

When Clay finally listened to his own tape, he took a break with Tony to go get food from Monet’s where Skye worked. It turned out they go way back and not only were they friends, they were more like best friends. However, when they started high school, their friendship fell apart and they both seem to blame the other for it.

1. Clay said Skye stopped talking to him, but Skye insisted that when they returned to school it was Clay who didn’t say hi to her in the halls, apparently because she looked different.
2. Skye had piercings and tattoos, and one has to assume that’s the change Clay was referring to.
3. Their trip down memory lane only became worse when Skye then started to talk about Hannah’s death and how everyone in high school has problems and Hannah just couldn’t deal.

Clay then grabbed Skye’s wrist, turning it over to reveal scars from where Skye cut herself and asked her if that was how she “dealt with it.” Skye replied yes and that suicide was weak. Unsurprisingly, Clay left pretty upset, feeling as though Skye had no right to talk negatively about Hannah since Skye had no idea all that she went through.

1. It’s obvious to probably everyone but Clay that Skye had feelings for him and that she was, in fact, jealous of Hannah and Sheri.
2. One has to hope that Clay won’t make the same mistake twice and will finally have a real conversation with Skye about their past friendship and become friends again, and possibly more.

For now though, it looks like Clay still only has his thoughts on Hannah, but to be fair, he still has two more tapes to listen to, not to mention the impending lawsuit against the school that he’s now definitely apart of. Hopefully, once things settle down, Clay and Skye can try to be friends again.

Why was Justin on Hannah’s tapes?

Accused – Hannah devotes an entire tape (two sides) to Justin. His first tape describes how he betrayed Hannah her freshman year by dumping her without a word and then spreading rumors about her. It’s pretty easy to see why she’s mad at him for that: he broke her heart, then stomped on it.

Ugh. The second episode happened two years later and is much more confusing and complicated. First, the memories of her kiss with Justin were the reason she pushed Clay away the night of the party. Then, that same night, Justin allowed (or so Hannah believes) Bryce Walker to have sex with Jessica Davis while she was unconscious.

Hannah blames Justin and herself for not stopping it when they both could and should have. First, let’s look at these stories in terms of Hannah. Bottom line: someone she was in love with turned out to be a jerk. Her faith in humanity was already dwindling and these episodes only added to that.

Did Hannah get justice in 13 Reasons Why?

Hannah’s Trial Ended In ’13 Reasons Why’ Season 2 & The Result Shocked Many Fans The second season of 13 Reasons Why was all about getting justice for Hannah Baker, and that meant most of the new episodes took place inside a courtroom. While Hannah told her story through posthumous cassette tapes in Season 1, her story was retold through other perspectives via testimonies from the tapes’ subjects in the court case at the center of the new season, adding a whole lot more information and context to Hannah’s story.

So, ? The verdict may have come as a shock to many viewers. Spoiler alert: This post is going to discuss details from Season 2 of 13 Reasons Why, so don’t read on if you haven’t finished it yet. At the center of the new season is Mrs. Baker’s lawsuit against the school district. Following her daughter’s death, we learn that Olivia Baker filed a suit against Liberty High School claiming that the school was negligent after her daughter exhibited signs that she may be suicidal.

The court case pitted Mrs. Baker against the school district’s attorney, as both sides called the students closest to Hannah to the stand. The resulting testimonies revealed the truth about a culture of bullying and abuse within the high school, but sadly, it was not enough for Mrs.

• Baker to get the justice she wanted for her daughter.
• Netflix In the penultimate episode of the season, the jury returns with their decision: The school district is judged not guilty in how it treated Hannah Baker.
• Obviously, the news is devastating for Mrs.
• Baker, as well as Clay Jensen and a number of the other kids who testified on Hannah’s behalf.

But although the court’s verdict was not what our main characters wanted, they did get justice for Hannah immediately afterwards. Right after exiting the courtroom following the jury’s not-guilty verdict, Bryce and Justin are both grabbed by police officers and charged with felony sexual assault and accessory to felony sexual assault, respectively.

1. Although she could not bring herself to come forward in court, Jessica eventually was able to finally tell the truth about Bryce raping her to the police, and Justin corroborated the story, knowing that he too would likely be arrested since he witnessed the assault and did nothing.
2. Both Bryce and Justin serve time in a juvenile detention facility, but even after Jessica pleads to a judge to sentence Bryce to jail time, Bryce winds up getting off with a measly three months of probation, whereas Justin has to sit in juvie for another few months since he doesn’t have a legal guardian to be released to.

It is a pretty upsetting end to this whole legal battle, especially since Bryce says that he will transfer schools and get a fresh start where nobody knows about his evil reputation, but at least Jessica finally feels free of the crushing weight that keeping quiet about her rape has been for her, and Clay is finally able to say goodbye to Hannah for good.

The most upsetting part of the whole thing is that the higher ups at Liberty High seem to get off scot-free. Mr. Porter actually seems repentant about his role in Hannah’s suicide, and works towards getting justice for her, but Liberty’s principal and its baseball coach are both shown willfully ignoring the environment of toxicity and assault within their school, and instead exalting the baseball stars even higher.

It was great to see Bryce get his comeuppance, however slight they may have been, but hopefully we can see the principal and baseball couch held responsible for their roles in this as well. Why was clay on the tapes?

Appearances – Clay Jensen is a junior at Liberty High School. Clay is the subject of Tape 6, Side A, although not as a reason for Hannah’s suicide, unlike all the other tapes. At the end of his tape, she explains that Clay is not the reason for her suicide, but that she felt he needed to know the reasons behind why she took her life.

Clay is considered to be socially awkward and usually doesn’t talk much. He is a very good kid and doesn’t usually give into peer pressure. He is known for kindness and good behavior. He works at The Crestmont movie theater. On his first shift there, he tells Hannah that he has lived in the town of Crestmont for his entire life.

He was previously rumored to be gay by other classmates at Liberty High School but these rumors appear to have died down before the events of “13 Reasons Why”. Due to Clay’s introverted character, he is known to not attend parties. At Hannah’s House party, Kat tells Hannah that the last time she saw Clay at a party was at her birthday party in the 4th grade, actually betting against Clay attending the party.

Why is 13 Reasons Why banned?

The most challenged book of 2017 was Jay Asher’s Thirteen Reasons Why, a novel that has been a valuable tool in igniting conversations about suicide, bullying, and consent. The depiction of suicide was the primary reason for 2017 challenges. The book was also on the top ten list in 2012 for drug and alcohol use, sexual content, suicide, and being unsuited for age group.

2. The novel is a first person narrative told from the perspective of Clay, a high school boy who receives 13 tapes that fellow student Hannah Baker leaves behind after her suicide.

YALSA named it a Best Book for Young Adults, On March 31, 2017, Netflix released a 13-episode series based on the novel. Notably, the series deviated from the source material in several significant ways. The depiction of Hannah’s suicide was changed and much more graphic, as was the depiction of drug and alcohol use.

1. Many of the 2017 challenges to Thirteen Reasons Why were tied to the popularity of the Netflix series.
2. The show debuted in late March, and shortly thereafter, several school districts around the country tried to ban the book.
3. After a series of suicides on Colorado, the curriculum director of the Mesa Country School District pulled the book from circulation without following due process.

It was returned after a review committee of librarians and counselors determined that the book wasn’t as graphic as the Netflix series. An elementary school in Florida banned the book from campus, even for personal reading, arguing that students weren’t mature enough to handle the depiction of suicide, profanity, sexual content, and drug use.

Is Clay the bad guy in 13 Reasons Why?

Season 1-3 – Clay is not a villain in the first three seasons. Instead, he spends those seasons trying to get justice for his friend and crush Hannah Baker (who killed herself as a result of Bryce Walker’s actions). However, he does have a few villainous acts such as sending a photo of Tyler’s nude butt around the school and almost murdering Bryce when he feels as though he won’t come to justice for his crimes.

In a recent press conference call, creator and executive producer James Duff along with star Kyra Sedgwick talked how they feel about the end of THE CLOSER. Why did you decide it was time to leave? Did it have anything to do with Kyra’s husband getting his own show ? KYRA: No, it was before Kevin got his gig.

I think we were in the middle of shooting Season 6 actually, when I started to contemplate the idea of what Season 8 would look like. It was something that I struggled with for many months; almost a year really to make the decision. It just felt like time, mostly for me as an artist, time for me to do something else.

There really wasn’t an epiphany. It was just the idea of doing a Season 8 I think felt daunting to me and overwhelming, and sort of just didn’t feel right. I think as an actor you really kind of just have to follow your instincts. It was a hard decision because, you’re putting so many other people out of work.

There was just a lot of factors that go into making that kind of decision. But I feel like it’s wonderful that we get to go out on top, and that James had a good long time to close this out in the right way to finish. JAMES: Yeah, she gave me an opportunity that most writers never have, which is the opportunity to end the show the way I’d always wanted to.

1. That was a great gift at the end of a great journey.
2. How do you feel about Kevin going on television now? KYRA: I’m thrilled for him.
3. I mean, I think it’s such a satisfying venue and it’s so exciting to stick with a character for many years if you get that opportunity.
4. And it’s so wonderful to work with a family.

I mean, Kevin’s always been very loyal and very much a family-oriented person, and I think that for those of us who like to have recognizable faces and people that we love and that support us and help us to do our very best work around us, it’s a unique opportunity and I’m thrilled for him.

I’m really excited. What do you hope that people take away from having seen THE CLOSER? JAMES: Well, of course first and foremost, I hope they are entertained. The idea of doing a series is to distract people from the pressures and horrors of ordinary life, and I hope we managed to do that. And the second thing I hope they take away is this extraordinary perspective on the justice system that we got to view through the lens of this character.

We can look at the justice system several different ways, and Brenda Leigh Johnson’s way off looking at it, which is not entirely my own, but which is interesting, was I feel like a fascinating experience for me as a writer. And also, I hope they feel like at the end of the day we honored that, that the last six episodes are true to the character and true to the ethos that we tried to create.

YRA: I feel like I hope that people have higher expectations of where their entertainment dollar can be spent. I feel like we really delivered great stories and great characters, and I hope that, this will make them speak out — encourage them to speak out – about really good shows and not be satisfied with the norm or simple things.

I also so hope as an actor that they really grew to understand and love this character as I love her, her complexities and her passion and through reality of being a woman in this kind of situation, and someone that they could really relate to. What do you guys think will be the legacy of this show after it’s over? How will people remember it? KYRA: I see her as a significant and sentinel character in the lexicon of female characters ever played for a long period of time, whether it’s a movie series or a television series.

• I think we broke a lot of ground and I think that we were able to consistently weave exciting storylines with deep and resonating character arcs.
• And I think that that’s something that’s very hard to do, especially in a procedural.
• And I think that we accomplished that.
• JAMES: I would say too that when we created the series I wasn’t aware that we would be breaking ground.

It hadn’t really occurred to me that way. Except that I was watching these other procedurals and it seemed to be a lot of times that they were asking women to be successful by acting like men. And that’s just not my experience in the workplace. Women are not successful because they act like men.

• Women are successful because women have their own feminine.
• I mean femininity is a power.
• It is not a weakness or something that needs to be compensated for.
• So I was very concentrated on making sure that Brenda remained a woman in this world.
• And I hope that resonates.
• I think it did.
• I think afterwards we saw a lot of single female lead shows where women were not, you know in effect dressing to disguise their femininity or overexposing themselves either.

There seemed to be some acceptance that women were strong in their own right, not because they could act like men, but because they had powers as women. Last Christmas there was the revelation that the civil lawsuit had been dropped against Brenda, but was still going forward against the City, and then they settled after Brenda was dropped out of the lawsuit with the Johnson Rule still intact.

Is that going to be explored further? What current implications does the Johnson Rule have over Brenda and the team for the rest of the series? JAMES: That’s part of the continuing storyline and we can’t answer that question fully, except to say that naturally whenever you create a solution in government there are unforeseen consequences.

And, you know the Johnson Rule ends up being an admission of a problem that it becomes more problematic as the last six episodes unfold. I think it was a really unfair solution personally, but it is the kind of solution that you find. And I wanted to show also the sort of stress, that really heroic — dare I say — public employees take-on on a daily basis, and the slings and arrows of outrageous misfortune they endure.

We’ve heard a lot about, you know how awful public employees are lately, and I just wanted to remind people that they are serving us and it is a vocation and what they get for it. And what they get for it us sometimes things like the Johnson Rule. Also can you comment on whether Jason O’Mara might be returning as Billy Croelick? KYRA: Unfortunately he is not.

JAMES No, he was doing another series while we were finishing ours. We loved him. The interesting thing about Jason’s character is that he never actually committed a murder that we know of on Brenda’s watch. So he’s not an unclosed case actually, technically.

• But I would have loved to have seen him some time in our last year, he just wasn’t available.
• He’s such a great guy too.
• How does it feel to be recognized with so many award nominations for your role on THE CLOSER? KYRA: It made a difference in my recognition factor for sure.
• And I think that people know my name now, and I think that’s always a good thing.

And I think THE CLOSER afforded me the opportunity to really show my wares and show the places that I was capable of going as an actor; the dark places and the funny places. I’ll never forget that. I mean, that has been an opportunity that I never really knew that I was going to get.

• Where this character went everywhere emotionally.
• JAMES: I want to add something to that, and that is that, she’s always been a great actress, always.
• And she’s always been someone who was capable of carrying the A-story just in her eyes.
• But, the nice thing I think THE CLOSER might have done is that she got a chance to actually prove that, and there are a lot of actors who don’t get a chance to prove it, but she’s too modest to say so.

But, the truth is she proved absolutely that what everybody thought about her was true, that she was in her being the A-story that she is a amazing actor and one of the most talented performers in the English speaking language. And she always had that and she always had that in her, but she got a chance to prove it and I think that’s a fantastic opportunity for an artist, and she won’t say it, so I will.

• Any chance you’ll be making a MAJOR CRIMES appearance then, Kyra? KYRA: Yes, for sure.
• It’s definitely a possibility.
• JAMES: It’s a possibility, yes.
• James, you will still be involved with the MAJOR CRIMES, right? JAMES: We’re still doing MAJOR CRIMES.
• I’m playing the same role in MAJOR CRIMES that I played in THE CLOSER.

Will there be some sort of crossover where an introduction near the end to kind of lead up into MAJOR CRIMES? JAMES: I would say there is a crossover character. There is a character who transits between THE CLOSER and MAJOR CRIMES, and he wasn’t planned exactly.

• It was just ended up being that way, and that THE CLOSER is the end of THE CLOSER.
• There are a couple of illusions to what comes next, but my focus was entirely on ending the series, and incidentally launching MAJOR CRIMES.
• So the illusions to MAJOR CRIMES are buried and hopefully some of them will be a surprise in the final hour.

But, I will say, I was more focused on concluding THE CLOSER than I was beginning MAJOR CRIMES when I was writing the show. I think that’s the experience people will have. As you look back on last season, do either of you guys have a favorite episode or a favorite story arc that will stand out in your memory? KYRA: That’s always so tough for me.

I feel like we have so many years to choose from it’s hard to pull out some favorites. I’m always most intrigued and feel most satisfied by the character arcs. And by those I mean some of the character arcs with Fritz and Brenda. I loved their courtship, and then when he finally asks her to marry him in that doctor’s office, in between tears of realizing that’s she’s suffering from peri-menopausal symptoms brought out on that have to be operated on, he asked her to marry her in the most inopportune moment.

But it’s beautiful and funny and wonderful. I also loved the whole cat arc, the getting the cat and her not wanting the cat, and then the cat becoming an intrinsic part of her life, and then the eventual demise of the cat. I loved her parents. I loved the fact that no matter what age you are when your parents come to visit you’re suddenly that 12-year old kid again who hasn’t learned anything; hasn’t changed at all.

1. I so appreciated being able to see that side of Brenda.
2. I loved the personal moments with some of her squad, like when Detective Sanchez’s brother died and she had to be there for him in a very special and different way.
3. Moments when she had to have Gabriel turn in his badge and his gun after he beats up the pedophile.

I thought that was very difficult for her as he is her favorite. And I loved that personal moment. So those were among my favorites. JAMES: I think my favorite moment in THE CLOSER overall is in the finale, and so I can’t really talk about it. But it is a scene between Brenda and Fritz halfway through where he begins to identify with the witness in a fairly spectacular way.

For me, THE CLOSER, one of the things I think that makes it appealing to the audience we have is about how to balance your professional life and your personal life, and how we never really know exactly how to do that. How we’re always making it up day-by-day, and not knowing where to put ourselves. And she, in that scene, Brenda is perfectly poised between both places.

It’s a very, very long time we spend just on her face as that moment plays out. To me it was just one of those things that. I like it for two reasons: one is because it is exactly where I always wanted the character to end up, and also because it’s one of those things that only Kyra Sedgwick could do.

1. I felt like that was, for me, the most amazing moment of the whole series, and everything after that is good too.
2. I mean, what she does after that, after she has that epiphany, if you will, is fantastic too.
3. But so much was building to that moment.
4. I think it was the very first scene we shot of the finale, as Michael Robin announced as we were shooting it, that it was rarified air we were breathing being able to bring the series to a close.

And oh my God, if you liked the show, that moment in the duplex and between here. Fritz is just going to be – well, John Tenney — he’s such an amazing actor too. Will the final episodes continue to balance the funny moments with the darker storylines? KYRA: Oh, absolutely.

I would say it’s a dramatic ending, but there’s a really fun romp in the second episode of the final six. And yes, there’s always an element of humor. I don’t think we could do our job as well as we do if we didn’t have an element of humor. I mean, there’s always a gallows-humor within, but there’s also just the interpersonal, recognizable things about each other that you have when you’re with a family or a cast a long time.

There’s a lot of interpersonal winks and people are still who they are, even in the midst of the most dramatic circumstances. So there are still a lot of laughs and a lot of good character fun stuff. What did you take away from set as your souvenir? Get stories that empower and uplift daily.

1. YRA: I didn’t take away anything from the set.
2. I didn’t actually take away any material things.
3. I mean, everyone on that set will, and the cast as well as the crew, will always have a very, very special place in my heart.
4. I was given a beautiful sort of seven-year yearbook from my makeup and my costume team.

Storyline (television series) – At the beginning of the series, 17-year-old schoolgirl Hannah Baker took her own life by cutting her wrists. Her school locker becomes a memorial adorned with students’ letters and her pictures. On his doorstep, Hannah’s friend Clay Jensen finds a box containing seven audio cassette tapes,

Each subsequent tape reveals Hannah’s thirteen reasons she killed herself. Hannah warns listeners to follow certain rules: everyone mentioned on the tapes must listen to the complete set then pass it along to the next person addressed. Failure to follow her instructions will result in a second set of tapes being released by a classmate and close personal friend of Hannah’s, later revealed to be Tony.

Clay, who was in love with Hannah, reminisces about the time he spent with her. He finds listening to Hannah’s story difficult, but his friend Tony finds him and reveals he plays a part in enforcing Hannah’s will by making sure the tapes are heard; he knows Clay is mentioned on them.

He warns Clay things will go wrong if he does not obey the tapes. Clay listens to the first tape, side A: Justin Foley. Hannah had just moved to town and became friends with her neighbor Kat, who is moving away to college and introduced her to her ex-boyfriend Justin Foley, along with his friend Zach Dempsey,

Hannah made a few meet-cutes with Justin before deciding to hang out with him later in the evening at the park. Justin, managing to take a revealing photo of Hannah and having kissed her, showed the photo to his friends that Bryce Walker spread through the school, which embarrassed Hannah.

1. Hannah tried to gather herself by confiding in Clay, but he made a hurtful comment and Hannah felt isolated.
2. On the first tape, side B is revealed to be Jessica Davis; Hannah talks about her friendship with Jessica and Alex Standall, with the two later dating in secret and having abandoned Hannah.
3. When Hannah found out, Alex broke up with Jessica and wrote a “Hot or Not” list with the two friends opposite each other.

Jessica blamed Hannah and publicly slapped her. In the present, Hannah’s mother, Olivia Baker, finds the “hot or not” list, leading her to believe her daughter was being bullied. She seeks the school principal’s help but because she and her husband have sued the school, they cannot help her more than what the school intends to help with.

1. On the second tape, side A, Alex Standall is the next reason.
2. Clay confronts Alex about the list and learns that he wrote the list to get back at Jessica for refusing to have sex with him.
3. The list eventually puts a target on Hannah’s back for sexual harassment, particularly from Bryce who not only groped her but later raped her.

As Clay progresses through the tapes, he encounters the others mentioned on Hannah’s recordings, stopping to question each one. He discovers that Hannah felt that everyone on the tapes either took advantage of her or abandoned her. At the same time, almost everyone mentioned on the tapes either tried to threaten Clay or befriend him to alleviate their own guilt in the death of Hannah.

1. Second tape, side B: Tyler Down, the school photographer.
2. Having a crush on Hannah, Tyler stalked Hannah at school and at her home in the middle of the night, taking photos of her.
3. Hannah did not know it was him and shared her fear of her stalker to Courtney Crimsen; Courtney volunteered to sleep over and the two play Truth or Dare, stripping their clothes and eventually kissing.

They caught Tyler who took photos of them and he distributed their photo throughout the school when Hannah refused to date him despite her plea for him to destroy the photo. To avenge Hannah, Clay then takes a photo of Tyler while he was changing in his room and circulates this photo to the school.

1. Tyler is viciously bullied because of this and the majority of the people from the tape detest him for his disgusting habit.
2. Third tape, side A: Courtney Crimsen.
3. Afraid that she would be outed as a lesbian, Courtney threw Hannah under the bus by lying that the photo is Hannah and another lesbian named Laura when the boys at school taunted her.

Furthermore, she added to the rumor about Hannah and Justin. Clay further makes Courtney feel guilty by luring her to Hannah’s grave to have her see that there is nothing wrong with being a lesbian, but Courtney leaves him stranded. He then calls Tony to pick him up while his mother is informed that he left school and never came back.

• Third tape, side B: Marcus Cole, the student President.
• During Dollar Valentine, Hannah was matched with Marcus and she gave him a chance for a date at a diner.
• Marcus not only showed up an hour late but brought friends to witness the date.
• When Hannah discovered that he was trying to sexually molest her in front of his friends, she pushed him away and he humiliated her in public.

Among his friends that came was Zach who sympathized with her while she wept. Fourth tape, side A: Zach Dempsey. Following Marcus’ rejection, Zach tried to befriend Hannah but she publicly rejected him as well, embarrassing him. In a social experiment in the class in which students can anonymously give a positive note to other students, Hannah realized that her notes are being taken and found out that Zach had been taking them after class.

She anonymously wrote a note for him and publicly confronted for targeting her, but revealed that he threw the note away. During a basketball game, Clay keys Zach’s car out of rage where he is discovered by Skye Miller, a classmate he was once friends with. Zach and his mother later accuses Clay of keying the car and Zach secretly admits to Clay that he kept the letter Hannah wrote to him.

Fourth tape, side B: Ryan Shaver. Hannah joined a poetry club and met classmate Ryan Shaver. The two bond over poetry but Ryan betrayed her by publishing her personal poem in the school magazine “Lost ‘n Found” that she had been reluctant to share. Hannah was further humiliated when her class decided to discuss about the poem, not knowing who the author was.

1. Hannah broke off her friendship with Ryan.
2. In the present day, Tony confides in Clay about the night of Hannah’s death.
3. Fifth tape, side A: Justin Foley again.
4. During a party at Jessica’s house, Hannah found out that she is dating Justin.
5. As there were three reasons to this story, Hannah omitted why she was in Jessica’s room in the first place, but that with her hiding in the closet, she witnessed Jessica’s rape by Bryce, and blamed Justin for not being able to help her.

Hannah was afraid to tell anyone and left with classmate Sheri Holland. In the present, Justin, who had been violent with Clay, is now being confronted by him to tell Jessica the truth: that she was raped and that he needs to stop protecting Bryce. Fifth tape, side B: Sheri Holland.

After witnessing Jessica’s rape, Hannah left with Sheri because she claimed she was sober. However, Sheri knocked down a stop sign and abandoned Hannah when she insisted they call someone about it. Hannah made her way to a nearby gas station and called the police about the sign, but they tell her someone had already called “it” in.

The knocked down stop sign later resulted in the death of Jeff Atkins, best friend of Clay Jensen. The school was under the impression that Jeff drove drunk while Hannah tried to admit her guilt in indirectly killing Jeff but Clay dismisses her. In the present, Clay forces Sheri to admit to Jeff’s parents that she indirectly killed Jeff because his parents were under the impression that he drove drunk.

1. However, Sheri refuses to.
2. Clay struggles to continue listening to Hannah’s recordings, thinking he has let her down.
3. He decides to return the tapes to Tony, who tells him he is the subject of the next tape.
4. Sixth tape, side A: Clay Jensen.
5. Hannah explains why she was in the closet and witnessed Jessica’s rape.

Having always been fond of Clay and hoping for a fresh start, Hannah show up to Jessica’s party with Clay’s invitation and admitted her feelings for him. In Jessica’s room, the two partially initiate sex before Hannah, traumatized by her negative encounters with the boys at school, screamed at Clay to leave.

1. Thinking he has provoked Hannah’s breakdown, Clay left and Hannah hid in the closet when she heard Justin and Jessica coming into the room.
2. However, Justin left when Jessica was too inebriated to respond to him.
3. She overhead Justin reluctantly allowing Bryce to enter the room, in which he then proceeded to rape a barely conscious Jessica.

At the end of the tape, Hannah admits that Clay does not deserve to be on the tapes but that she could not have told her story without talking about him. In the present day, Olivia finds a list with all the names of the people on the tapes but does not know the meaning behind them.

1. The Bakers decide to file a lawsuit against the school and almost everyone on the list is subpoenaed.
2. It is revealed that the Bakers are having financial problems with the store.
3. Sixth tape, side B: Bryce Walker.
4. Hannah reveals that this was “the most difficult day” of her life.
5. Hannah saw that her parents are financially struggling and offered to help, but they refused to take money from her.

After losing her parents’ business deposits, she took a late night stroll as a solution to her growing depression and came upon Bryce’s pool party. She stripped down to her undergarments to join in on the hot tub before being raped by Bryce after everyone, including Jessica and Justin, left.

• Returning home, she started to recall how her life came to this point and made a list of people who had hurt her and decided that “no one will hurt me again.” In the present, Jessica has mentally and emotionally suffered because of Justin’s absence in their relationship.
• To gain his attention, she becomes close to Bryce, triggering Justin and he then accuses Bryce of raping Jessica.

Seventh tape, side A: Mr. Porter. After recording the tapes, Hannah felt “something shift”, and decided to get help and give life one more try. She went to see school counselor Mr. Porter and, while secretly recording their conversation, vaguely and reluctantly admitted that she had been raped.

1. Mr. Porter cannot make her disclose the identity of her rapist and Hannah refuses to get her parents or police involved so he gives her the only option of moving on.
2. Hannah abruptly leaves, despite hoping that he would want to help her enough to chase after her.
3. When he did not, she then dropped off her uniform at the Crestmont and left the tapes at Tony’s front door.

Afterwards, she returned home to fill the tub with water, slit her wrists, and died from bloodloss. Her parents were revealed to have discovered her and called the police but were too late to save her. Throughout the tapes, the group (excluding Jessica, Sheri, and Bryce) find that Clay is uncontrollable so Marcus plants weed he purchased from Bryce in his bag, successfully forcing Clay to be suspended.

1. At this time, Clay confides in his mother regarding hypothetical situations similar to Bryce’s criminal activities and Jessica’s rape but will not reveal anything else.
2. Furthermore, knowing that Bryce is the next person he should be handing the tapes off to, Clay instead goes to see him under the pretense of buying weed.

Secretly recording their conversation to the seventh tape, side B, Clay suffers a beating but gets Bryce to admit that he had raped Hannah. Before passing the tape of to the final person, Mr. Porter, Clay has Tony record the last tape of Bryce’s confession to his second set of tapes.

Feeling guilty that her parents never received answers regarding their daughter’s suicide, Tony converts the tapes into mp3 format and hands it over to Mrs. Baker. During the deposition of Hannah’s classmates, while the other classmates maintain their story that Hannah was a troubled person, Tyler eventually admits that she made tapes of reasons why she killed her self, revealing that Clay was the last person to have them.

Jessica ends her relationship with Justin while he decides to run away from town. The season ends with Jessica admitting to her father about her rape and Clay reconnecting with Skye.

In my opinion, it turned into a show where they were exploiting serious issues just for shock value and to keep the show running-as opposed to addressing those issues and tackling them with a storyline that makes coherent sense.

This can be seen in numerous episodes where Chase really worries about her when she is in danger and does whatever he can to help her. Whenever Ryder chooses Rocky for a mission, Chase and Skye look at each other when Rocky says his catchphrase. They can be seen being together all the time (walking together, being next to each other, playing together, sitting together, and sometimes being separated from the whole group).
